THE WHOLE PROPERTY

A consistent finish around the house.

The work extended beyond the front elevation. The white frames continue around the rear windows and projecting bay, giving the separate parts of the house a consistent finish against the red brickwork.

The wider working photograph shows the scale of the property and driveway. The closer views bring the focus back to the decorating: the window frames, glazing bars and painted trim. The brickwork, roof and driveway remain part of the setting.

PREPARATION TO FINISH

The decorative apex, brought back into focus.

The bargeboards and turned finial are part of the same house project. The two photographs follow the decorative timberwork from its earlier working stage to the completed white finish.

Keeping the edges and shaped details clearly defined lets the original joinery stand out against the tiled gable.

EXTERIOR TIMBERWORK

A weathered gate, a richer finish.

The solid timber pedestrian gate was included in the exterior work. The earlier image records its patchy, weathered surface; the later photographs show a more even, deep brown finish on the panels, upright slats and frame.

The original gate and ironmongery are retained. Dust sheets protect the paving during the work, and the reverse view shows the finish carried across the other face.

THE SAME PROJECT / METALWORK

The staircase gets the same attention.

The black external staircase serves the brick outbuilding beside the house. This part of the job covered the painted metalwork, including the stair structure, treads and railings.

Working-stage and finished photographs show the change in the surface finish and the detail around the steps. Repainting the existing staircase completes the exterior scheme without replacing the structure.
